Controller - CHTL Logistics LLC, Hickory, NC 1993-2004; 2006-2008

Recruited back by the management team to update the accounting and operational software packages.

  • Installed more efficient operations and accounting software and led trainings.
  • Designed and implemented a new reporting system for operational and financial data.
  • Created new reports that led to changes in customer mix, routes, and rates.
  • Sped up collection of Accounts Receivables by several days with new processes and methods.

  • Cut the production time for monthly financial reports by more than a week.
  • Restructured the budgeting process so operational people provided data, but all calculations were done by spreadsheets. Divisional data was automatically combined and summarized.

Relocated to the Hickory, NC area. Attempted to help this company survive severe cash flow problems.

Helped the company through the transition of accounting personnel, operating systems, and accounting software. Established a great working relationship with the owners to transform a 50 year old company into the use of modern technology.
